This virtual meeting allows us to spread the net wider and perhaps reach people who would have not been interested in responding to us by traditional means

The ‘Community-Click’ pilot gives people the opportunity to ask Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Dave Toor questions about their ward priorities and find out what is happening where they live via an interactive web chat.
The first virtual meeting takes place on Tuesday 13th July between 7pm and 9pm and covers the Owton Manor, Rossmere, Seaton Carew, Greatham and Fens wards.
It forms part of a strategy by Cleveland Police to use a range of methods to feedback to residents about their concerns and find out more about what issues are in communities.
As more and more people have access to the internet ‘Community-Click’ provides another outlet for residents of all ages to get involved in talking about their neighbourhood. It will reach parents who perhaps cannot leave their children to attend a meeting or those who may feel anxious about speaking in a public forum.
It is hoped that the pilot will prove to be a success and will be rolled out to other wards across the town. However Inspector Toor is keen to stress that these virtual meetings are in no way a replacement for regular face-to-face ward meetings and are purely a positive addition to these.
He said: “Community-Click is a great way for us to reach a diverse range of residents, enabling them to ask questions from the comfort of their home environment.
“We are accountable to communities and are committed to responding to their neighbourhood priorities. This virtual meeting allows us to spread the net wider and perhaps reach people who would have not been interested in responding to us by traditional means.
“It is really simple to get involved in the virtual meeting; there is no need to pre-register or log-in, they just need to ask their question. I hope that the pilot is a success so that we can roll it out to the rest of the town.”
Anyone wanting to take part in ‘Community-Click’ can visit the Community-Click page. People can ask questions by visiting the link anytime between 7pm and 9pm. Inspector Toor will endeavour to answer any questions throughout the virtual meeting and will respond at a later date should he need to do any further investigation.
Anyone wanting any further information on how to get involved can call Website Co-ordinator Michael Storey on 01642 301280.
